Gourmet Foods

Gourmet Foods are many and cover a wide range of menu items. Whether it be the main course, the beverage which accompanies the meal or the desert at the end of the meal, the choices are many and growing. The increased choices of Gourmet Foods is due to the world becoming a more accessible place. Much of this can be credited to the growth of the Internet itself. Because local grocery stores generally supply only items that move quickly off the store shelves, many Gourmet Food items are not stocked on the local store shelves. Thus many of these foods just can't be found in your local stores.

What we want to do here is not only focus on the most important items, the Gourmet Foods themselves, but also include the visual aspects of presenting a Fabulous Gourmet meal. That of course includes flowers and candles for the table setting as well as gourmet kitchen items you need to prepare the gourmet meal.

Let's begin with the main course Gourmet Foods, then compliment with Gourmet Coffee & Teas or Gourmet Wines and then finish with the Gourmet Chocolates.

What does Gourmet mean: The history of the word Gourmet does not seem to be disputed as to being of French origin, however the definition of the word seems to vary.

  1. Wikepedia states the word gourmet is from the French term for a wine broker or taste-vin employed by a wine dealer.

  2. Webster's states the origin of the word Gourmet is French, from Middle French, alteration of gromet boy servant, vintner's assistant, probably ultimately from Middle English grom groom.
